Spraying

A stack of doors recently spray painted and drying on a specially constructed rack

Spray finishing is an important step in manufacture for a wide range of wood products for commercial or domestic use. Examples of products include kitchen cabinets, display units and home furniture, and they demand a high quality, durable finish.

Spray painting produces a smooth, blemish-free and evenly coated finish in the hands of a skilled professional. Specialist equipment, professional paints or lacquers, and a dust-managed environment are required to produce a high quality finish.

Paints and Lacquers

I work with a range of paints and lacquers that provide the most suitable quality of finish and speed of application for each spray finishing project. The materials I use include:

Polyurethane (PU or Two Pack)

Provides long term protection in heavy wear environments such as kitchens and bathrooms. Available in a wide range of gloss levels. This is my recommended finish for most applications.

Acid Catalysed (AC)

Provides protection for most commercial and heavy duty applications. Excellent mar resistance, tough and flexible. Available in gloss, satin, and textured finishes.

Pre-Catalysed Water Based Epoxy (Pre Cat)

Suitable for domestic furniture including wall units, wardrobes, coffee tables or commercial shop fittings. Available in a wide range of gloss levels.

Colours

I can supply any solid colour required based on BS or RAL paint codes, or swatch colour names from Farrow & Ball, Leyland, Dulux and others.

Colours can also be prepared by providing a sample colour from any material which will be spectro-analysed for accurate reproduction.
